You can now lace up your skates and head out onto the Rideau Canal.
The Rideau Canal Skateway fully opened on Monday.
The UNESCO World Heritage Site winds its way through the heart of the National Capital over a total length of 7.8 kilometres with the skating season typically running from January to early March, but it is weather-dependent.
Some safety tips before hitting the ice include knowing the flag system and when the skateway is open and closed as well as watching for cracks in the ice and avoiding snow-covered edges that aren’t safe.
You can find more information on the National Capital Commission website.
