NGDHS student Blake Bothwell recovering well from transplant surgery

NGDHS student Blake Bothwell is recovering well from transplant surgery. Principal David Morrison reports Blake has been taken out of ICU and is on a day treatment program. His family remains in Ronald McDonald House in Toronto but they expect to return to the North Grenville area within the next week or so. Morrison says he has been overwhelmed by the show of support from the community; students are putting their loose change in the donation box, the Teachers’ Federation chipped in $500 and Champions for Kids gave $1000. Complete strangers are coming in off the street as well, to put bills in the donation box at the school office. Over $6000 has been raised thus far, to help pay for expensive anti-rejection drugs that Blake will have to be on for the rest of his life. Blake’s classmates got to see how well their friend is doing when they Skyped him before the Easter break.
