Library launches survey, Sunday hours possible

The North Grenville Public Library is seeking feedback from the community. A survey was launched on Friday to gather data about library usage.

CEO Rachel Brown says the goal is to get as much input as possible. She noted the survey consists of six questions and comments section. Brown explained one of the questions speaks to the possibility of opening on Sunday afternoons.

She says the library has limited staffing resources, so if people come back and say they want to see Sunday hours, the library may look at piloting it down the road.

Another question relates to closing at 8:00pm instead of 9:00pm on weeknights.

Brown noted the library is very quiet after 8:00pm, but it’s important to put it out there to ensure closing earlier won’t affect access.

The survey also looks at people’s overall usage of the library. Brown explained a survey where you check a box doesn’t give you the whole picture. She says that individual stories about how people use the library, when they use it and when they’d like to use it could help shape operations moving forward.

The survey is available in paper format at both library branches, in Kemptville and Burritts Rapids, and online by clicking here
