With the clocks set to go back this weekend, residents are being reminded to change the batteries in their smoke alarms.
Madawaska Valley Fire Chief Corwin Quade says that residents should also know how many fire alarms they need in their home.
He suggests at least one on each floor and one outside of each bedroom area.
Quade also says that on top of changing the batteries in your smoke alarms, to make sure the expiration date on the side of it hasn’t passed yet.
