Despite some recent rainfall, residents are being reminded to avoid open-air fires.
Randy Urslak, North Grenville’s Deputy Fire Chief, says the municipality’s total fire ban is remaining in effect with no changes.
That means burn barrels, brush burning, campfires, fireworks, and all other open-air burning is prohibited.
However, you can still use your charcoal or propane barbecue if you have one.

The ban came into effect last week because of hot, dry conditions that started at the beginning of June.
Urslak says the fire department is monitoring the situation and re-evaluating the burn ban daily.
