A former Leeds County OPP officer has been found guilty of nine violent offences.
Jason Redmond faced 11 charges related to altercations between himself and a woman between 2019 and 2021. Witnesses and the Crown described Redmond punching, choking, and pushing the woman, as well as causing her to be cut with a knife.
The victim’s identity is protected under a publication ban.
He pleaded not guilty and was acquitted on two of the charges.
Redmond has been suspended by the OPP since 2015, after being charged for taking part in a drug trafficking scheme. He was found guilty in 2018 and sentenced to one year of probation.
Earlier this year, Redmond was also convicted of sexual assault. He has a sentencing hearing scheduled for June 16th.
