Local boy seeks to start Green Shirt Day movement

Ethan Bos is asking everyone in North Grenville to sport a green shirt on April 7 and 8. The Green Shirt Day movement started with Logan Boulet, a Humboldt Broncos player who died on April 7 last year.

Boulet donated his organs, saving six people. Known as the Logan Boulet Effect, over 100,000 people registered to become organ donors after Boulet’s story was publicized.

Bos, a grade 7 student at St. Michael Catholic High School, says 90 per cent of Canadians support organ donation but only 23 per cent have registered. He says over 200 people die every year waiting for an organ.

Donors have to be at least 16-years-old, provide their date of birth and health card number.

Bos says the process only takes a few minutes of your time. He says he can’t wait to register in three years.
