The Leeds Grenville Small Business Enterprise Centre is seeking aspiring new business owners for their Summer Company Program.
Youths between the ages of 15 and 29, who are enrolled or returning to school in the fall, are eligible to apply.
Up to $1,500 in start-up funds are provided to get the business off the ground with an additional $1,500 granted upon returning to school.
The program includes hands on business guidance from successful local businesses paired with full-time work responsibilities.
Participants can expect to create business plans, attend meetings and take part in training sessions.
Last year’s program helped people create opportunities including landscaping, baking and running a shop in the Farmers’ Markets.
There are 12 spots available for Leeds-Grenville. The deadline to apply is May 17.
