Snow Bucket Challenge launches in support of Big Sky Ranch

A local family is asking businesses and community members to take the Snow Bucket Challenge. Money raised will go to Big Sky Ranch Animal Sanctuary, which is currently struggling to heat its barns.

Sam Le Goueff says her mom came up with the idea while brainstorming ways to help the local rescue. She says it grew to include her whole family.

The Snow Bucket Challenge launched on Sunday, bringing in $100 so far. Three businesses – R. Rose Automotive, MotorTrendz and Shouldice Trucking – have already accepted the challenge. Participants are being asked to nominate others for the challenge to keep the ball rolling.

Le Goueff says people can get creative. She says every little big raised for Big Sky makes a big difference.

The Snow Bucket Challenge can be tracked on social media using the hashtag #ShareTheWarmth.

Canadian Tire is helping out by raffling off a TomTom GPS valued at $200. People can bid on the item and every dollar will go to Big Sky Ranch.

A video of the Snow Bucket Challenge is posted on the 97.5 Juice FM Facebook page.
