Strackerjan says priorities will be affordable housing, environment

Kristin Strackerjan is about to be officially sworn-in as councillor. The ceremony is being held Tuesday night at the North Grenville Municipal Centre. Strackerjan was appointed following the resignation of former councillor Craig McCormick last week.

Strackerjan says the biggest challenge she will face is starting off behind the eight ball. She says catching up on the administration and protocol side of things will be her focus.

Strackerjan says she campaigned on affordable house and the environment and those will be her priorities moving forward. She says getting involved in committees is another first step. Strackerjan will serve as council liaison for the Kemptville District Hospital, Kemptville College Foundation and Emergency Management Committee.

Strackerjan says she is looking forward to stepping into the new role. She begins official duties following the swearing-in ceremony.
