SKLZ Competition Sends 19 Students To Toronto

It started with over 180 but now 19 students will take part in the Skills Ontario Provincial Competition.

The Eastern Ontario SKLZ competition is a partnership between the UCDSB, CDSBEO and St Lawrence College in Cornwall and is aimed at teaching students the value of a career in the trades. Lori Carlisle, a learning partner with the UCDSB notes that about 50 per cent of the trades workforce in Ontario will retire in the next five years.

The competition which took place at St Lawrence College’s Cornwall campus is an opportunity for students to demonstrate their technical abilities in a skilled trades and you can see the list of the 19 who will represent the UCDSB & CDSBEO in Toronto below.
