The newly created Municipal Drug Strategy of South Grenville is hosting its first event at South Grenville District High School in Prescott. Former NFL player Alvin Powell will be making two presentations about the dangers of drugs and addiction at the school Monday. One will be for students, the other will be for parents and families. Powell has struggled with drug addiction himself. South Grenville District High School Principal Guy Lamarche says he’s seen Powell present before and wanted to bring him back.
Powell says parents will learn tips for talking with their children about drugs and how to recognize the first signs of trouble. Everyone is welcome to attend the event starting at 6:00pm.
