Police reminding driver’s that tinting their front windshield is illegal

OPP are reminding drivers that it’s against the law to tint their vehicle’s front windshield.

Police say doing so can have serious, unintended consequences for other drivers and even pedestrians who cannot make eye contact with the driver before crossing the street.

They say a vehicle with front windshield tint could also be deemed unfit for the road and could fail a safety inspection.

This could result in having the plate seized and vehicle towed.

Penalties for illegal front window or windshield tint in Ontario typically include set fines ranging from $85 to $500, plus court surcharges and victim fine fees.
