Police: Three people charged as part of drug trafficking investigation

Three people have been charged and a large amount of drugs and money has been seized by police as part of a drug trafficking investigation.

The OPP Community Street Crime Unit, with help from other agencies, executed search warrants at a property in Edwardsburg Township and a storage facility in Kemptville on Thursday, Oct. 22.

Officers say they seized more than 1 kilogram of suspected cocaine, about 3 kilograms of suspected crystal meth, approximately 6000 suspected meth tablets and opioid pills, a loaded handgun, rifles, brass knuckles, ammunition, approximately $100,000 in Canadian currency and other items typically associated with drug trafficking.

A 23-year-old North Dundas Township woman and a 41-year-old Kemptville man were arrested and charged with a raft of weapon and drug offences.

Both were held in custody for a bail hearing in Brockville.

A 42-year-old Kemptville man also faces weapons charges and he is scheduled to appear in court in Brockville on Friday.
