Ontario Liberal leadership candidates to debate in Kemptville

Candidates for the leadership of the Ontario Liberal Party are going to share their views on agriculture in front of a local audience.

The Leeds–Grenville–Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes Provincial Liberal Association is hosting the Ontario Liberal Leadership Debate on Agriculture and Rural Communities in Kemptville on Saturday, Aug. 16.

It’s taking place at the North Grenville Municipal Centre at 1 p.m. and organizers say candidates will discuss the issues that matter most to rural Ontario, including agriculture, food security, rural health care, infrastructure, economic development, and the future of farming communities.

They say it’s the first leadership debate dedicated specifically to rural and agricultural issues.

Unlike traditional political debates, candidates will receive the general themes in advance, but will not receive the specific questions.
