Kemptville monster truck driver competing in show in Ottawa

A local monster truck driver is showing that competing in the motorsport is a family affair.

Ryan Como says he first became interested in taking part when his father Eddie was competing in shows and he was helping out behind the scenes.

Ryan says his dad told him they should get another truck and soon enough he was behind the wheel and he’s now been behind the wheel for over a decade.

His family also now owns seven trucks and competes in 40 shows a year in Canada and the U.S.

One of those shows, Monster Spectacular, is being held on Saturday, May 23 at the Canadian Tire Centre in Kanata.

Ryan tells Moose FM that he’s excited to show off his skills in front of friends and family.

“You’ve got hometown teams from the Ottawa area. You’ve got three of the best monster trucks in the world coming. In my opinion, this is the best show that comes to Ottawa.”

Ryan and his monster truck called “Rat Nasty” took home the Freestyle Championship title at last year’s show in Ottawa.
