Tips to keep in mind if flying this holiday season

There are some things to keep in mind if your holidays include hopping on a flight.

Officials at the Ottawa International Airport say Dec. 21 to 23 are expected to be the busiest travel days of 2025, with most flights at or near capacity.

Before your trip, they say you should save time and check in for your flight online from home, ensure all travellers in your group have proper identification and bring books or toys if you’re traveling with children.

They say you should also reserve parking online to guarantee your spot, download your airline’s app for handy features and helpful information and, above all, pack your patience.

Finally, if you plan to take gifts in your carry-on, don’t wrap them as they may need to be inspected during the security screening.
