(UPDATED) Local farmer donates $10,000 to KDH CT Scanner initiative

UPDATE: This article has been edited to reflect an updated press release issued by the Kemptville District Hospital Foundation, with the name of the donor corrected.

Farmer Peter Van Adrichem is urging other business owners in and around North Grenville to help bring a CT scanner to the Kemptville District Hospital (KDH).

Van Adrichem celebrated the holidays with a $10,000 donation to the KDH Foundation’s ongoing fundraising campaign to purchase the new equipment.

“I thought about the fact that we are all getting older and have different health concerns,” Van Adrichem says. “I know a year ago, I had kidney stones and was taken to Ottawa for a CT scan where there were long line ups. It would be great to have a CT Scanner here, at KDH.”

Van Adrichem says the KDH Foundation needs the support of businesses and developers to purchase the scanner.

Foundation staff members say the total cost for a CT scanner will come to $2.2-million. As of late November, the Foundation has brought in $800,000 towards that goal.
