Chesterville Fire Station meets $10,000 goal in Muscular Dystrophy fundraiser

Fire Prevention Officer Sean Donovan says his team with the North Dundas Fire Service has set a new fundraising record for Muscular Dystrophy Canada.

Donovan’s team at the Chesterville Fire Station ran a boot drive collecting donations for the organization last week.

“We set a pretty hefty goal of $10,000,” explains Donovan, “and I’m extremely happy to report that our community and our businesses came through. We had a grand total of $10,049 and six cents.”

This marks the third year in a row the station has broken its personal record for the fundraiser, after collecting $4,000 in donations in 2021 and $7,000 in 2022.

The money goes towards research into muscular dystrophy treatments and supporting people living with the disease.

Donovan thanks all the residents and business owners that contributed, and says his team is looking forward to raising more next year.
