An awareness march in support of victims of sexual violence is coming to our region in a month.
The Leeds Grenville Interval House, a local shelter for women and kids escaping violence and abuse, is running its “Take Back the Night” event in Brockville this year, after marching through the streets of Kemptville last fall.
The walk is part of a worldwide initiative to support victims of sexual violence and raise awareness that started in the United States in the 1970s.
Participants will be walking through Brockville starting in Hardy Park. Attractions like bouncy castles will be available for people bringing their kids.
If you’re interested in taking part, it’s happening on September 15th. The event begins at 5:00 PM, with the walk set to start two hours later at 7:00 PM.
