Mayor Nancy Peckford talks economic impact of Kemptville Live

Mayor Nancy Peckford says it’s “incredible” that a small community like North Grenville can host “high caliber” musicians like Blue Rodeo and Melissa Etheridge.

Moose FM spoke with Peckford about the Kemptville Live Music Festival, an annual event held last weekend.

She says one of the festival’s benefits is that it brings people from all over Canada into our community.

“We know that it captures the heart of many in North Grenville,” Peckford says, “but it goes beyond that, and that’s why it’s a very significant regional event.”

“The economic impact,” she continues, “certainly, can be felt at local grocery stores and some of the local businesses, both in the downtown area, but even on [County Road] 43 as well.”

Peckford is also thanking organizer Karen Bedard for helping make the festival a reality every year.

We’ve reached out to Bedard for an interview to learn more about what went into running the event.
