The Rideau Valley Conservation Authority is hosting a community tree planting event soon where staff members expect to cross a major milestone.
According to the organization, the event will include a ceremony to celebrate its reforestation program planting more than seven million trees.
To mark the occasion, Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe, Elizabethtown-Kitley Mayor Brant Burrow and several other local figures will plant a special commemorative tree together.
The event is happening in Richmond near Kirkham Crescent, on May 13th.
