North Grenville celebrates First Responders Day

Mayor Nancy Peckford and the rest of council are taking time to thank all North Grenville’s police officers, firefighters, and paramedics for the work they do.

The Municipality is celebrating First Responders Day, a provincial initiative to recognize and commemorate emergency workers across Ontario.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the initiative.

“On behalf of Council and the Municipality of North Grenville, I want to thank each and every one of our First Responders for their work,” Mayor Peckford says. “First Responders put their lives on the line every day to protect us.”

Councillor Kristen Strackerjan and Fire Chief John Okum are also specifically thanking North Grenville’s volunteer firefighters for taking on the dangerous work they do.

If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer firefighter or want to learn more about North Grenville’s other emergency services, you can visit the municipality’s website for more details.
