Kemptville & District Home Support is hosting a free picnic. Local seniors are invited to the event, set for Wednesday next week. The picnic is being held at Maplewood Park in Oxford Mills, starting at 11:00am.
Executive Director Susan Smith says it’s the perfect way to celebrate Seniors’ Month. She says people should bring their own lawn chair to sit under the maple trees and listen to music.
Smith noted the Kemptville Lions Club provides the barbecue and Grenville Mutual Insurance brings homemade butter tarts for everyone.
Around 100 seniors attend the picnic annually.
Smith says if anyone is interested in coming, contact the seniors centre directly by calling 613-258-3203. She noted transportation is also available.
