Composting 101 Workshops start tomorrow

Dates have been set for the Composting 101 Workshops. The Municipality of North Grenville is running the pilot project to gather data about waste diversion. People who attend one or more of the workshops will be eligible for a free backyard composter.

The workshops will be led by four local experts, conducting two sessions each. The presenters are Bill Langenberg, Denise Mahoney, Diana Steadman and Paul Sharpe.

Councillor Kristin Strackerjan says they are passionate composters. She says all four are volunteering their time to run the sessions.

The workshops start tomorrow at the municipal centre and run throughout the month of June. For the full schedule, click here.

Strackerjan says it will be a simple process. She says a waste audit will take place at the beginning, to find out how much waste is organic. Strackerjan noted a follow-up with be done to find out how much waste was diverted through composting.

To register, contact Strackerjan by emailing [email protected].
