Canadian Tire in Kemptville is hosting a fundraising barbecue in support of Jumpstart. The event is set for Saturday, from 11:00am to 3:00pm. Every dollar raised will go towards covering the cost of equipment and registration fees for local kids to participate in sports.
Owner Frank Hoffman says every kid should be able to play sports. He says Jumpstart is there for the people who can’t afford it.
The local chapter of Jumpstart helped 174 kids last year.
Hoffman says no child was refused last year, thanks to community support. He says people can apply online through Canadian Tire Jumpstart. Hoffman noted that all the money raised in Kemptville stays here. Â
Royal LePage is partnering with Jumpstart to host the barbecue and representatives, along with local dignitaries, will be manning the grill.
