Duck Race to bring in dollars for Navy League, Sea Cadets

Rubber ducks will be raining down from the Prescott Bridge in Kemptville. The annual Duck Race is set for Sunday at 1:00pm. Money raised through ticket sales will go to the Sea Cadets and Navy League.

President Peter Milsom says the organization offers great programming at no cost for local youth. He says the Navy League and Sea Cadets cater to youth between the ages of 9 and 18. Milsom says they start out at shy youngsters and graduate out of the program as mature, well focused citizens.

Tickets for the Duck Race are $5 each, 3 for $10 or 10 for $35. People can get tickets at local businesses or the day of the event.

Milsom says Hudson’s Auto Body, owned by David Blue, is sponsoring all the awards. He says there’s a $500 grand prize up for grabs.

The Rotary Club of Kemptville will be running a fundraising barbecue and have Duck Decoys on display at Rotary Park prior.
