The Kemptville Salvation Army is putting out a call for help to the public. The organization is seeking more volunteers and donations for its Thrift Store.
Director Calvin Wong says the money generated from the store fills a variety of needs for clients, including prescriptions and fuel for medical appointments.
The Salvation Army is hoping for 10 new volunteers. There is also a shortage of donations. People are being asked to drop-off household items and clothing in saleable condition. Â
The store, located on Asa Street, is open Monday to Saturday, from 9:30am to 4:30pm.
Wong says the demand for the food bank continues to grow. He says the Fill-A-Bag campaign brought in tons of food, but the organization is seeing the food bank shelves getting depleted at a more rapid rate this year due to increased use.
There is a current need for peanut butter, coffee, pasta sauce and cereal. To volunteer, contact the Salvation Army directly by calling 613-258-3583. Â Â Â
