Schools in Grenville Will Be Taking Part in Jersey Day for Humboldt

On Thursday students are being encouraged to dress in a jersey to show support for Humboldt Saskatchewan.

Representatives with the Upper Canada District School Board and Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario say they’re behind the initiative. CDSBEO Communications Officer Amber Laberge says they will also be preparing a special prayer that will go out to all of their schools.

Some private schools in the area also say students can wear an altered uniform that day. Students at St. Lawrence Academy in Prescott and both the Brockville and Merrickville branches of Fulford Academy will be allowed to participate. Jersey Day will be taking place across the country as a show of support for the loved ones of those lost in the Humboldt Broncos bus crash.
