The Waterfront Trail along the south branch of the Rideau River is taking a step forward.
North Grenville Council has approved the project go ahead through Blair Harris Construction for $57,600 excluding taxes.
It’ll create a pathway from a road allowance at the end of Barnes Street to Clothier Street East along the north side of the river.
Director of Parks Recreation and Culture Mark Guy says the trail will play a big part in the municipality’s active transportation plan.
This is only one step in what is expected to be a larger pathway that will eventually lead to County Road 43.
The project was approved in the 2017 North Grenville Budget.
