Several dozen chickens have died in a barn fire on Donnelly Drive in south Ottawa.
Multiple media sources are reporting that Ottawa fire crews were called yesterday afternoon to the fire north of the river between Kemptville and Merrickville.
Media sources say the 60′ by 40′ barn was burning when crews arrived.
According to the Ottawa Fire Service, some chickens were freed after a Good Samaritan arrived on the scene and released some of them.

Media sources also report that a tractor and four-wheeler were destroyed in the fire.
There’s no word on the cause of the fire.
