This year’s Sweetheart Brunch raised $20,000.
Eight charities will share in the funds raised by the event that is organized by the local Knights of Columbus. About 100 volunteers come together to make the event possible.
Event Chair Dermid O’Farrell says that the event reached new heights last year in memory of Harry Pratt and that has continued into this year. The organization has also maintained a way to honour Pratt during the event each year.
Charities that are receiving funding from the event’s profits include the Kemptville District Hospital Foundation, North Grenville Accessible Transportation, Kemptville and District Home Support Inc., Ryan’s Well Foundation, Beth Donovan Hospice, North Grenville Scouts and Refugees in North Grenville.
