St. John’s United Church will be creating their own Faceless Doll Project to bring awareness to the issue of missing or murdered Aboriginal women. It’s a project that was first launched by the Native Women’s Association of Canada in March of 2012. The idea is to invite Canadians from all walks-of-life to hear the Faceless Doll story and create their own doll.
Each doll created at the event on March 11th will represent a known case of a missing or murdered Aboriginal woman or girl in the database. There will be guest speakers at the event which runs from 11:00am to 4:00pm.
