9-1-1 service restored following intermittent outage

Ontario Provincial Police say that the 9-1-1 system has largely stabilized.

It comes after police say they started receiving reports of intermittent 9-1-1 outages across the province around 4 a.m. Thursday.

Members of the public requiring emergency police response were directed to call the OPP non-emergency line, which remained fully operational.

Throughout the temporary outage, the OPP continued to respond to calls for service.

OPP are thanking the phone network providers for expediting the restoration of the 9-1-1 service.
