Six people charged as part of drug investigation in eastern Ontario

Six people face charges as part of a drug investigation in eastern Ontario.

The OPP’s East Region Community Street Crime Unit says it executed search warrants in Chesterville, South Stormont Township and in Cornwall last Wednesday.

Officers seized more than 170 grams of suspected cocaine, about 37 grams of suspected heroin, over 600 suspected opioid pills, three vehicles, Canadian and American currency, replica firearms and cell phones.

Those arrested include a 57-year-old North Dundas man who faces drug and weapon charges.

Police say the suspects were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court in Cornwall in December.

Anyone with information regarding illegal drug activity in the area is encouraged to contact police.
