North Grenville remembering former Mayor Ralph Raina

North Grenville is in mourning following the passing for former Kemptville Mayor Ralph Raina.

In a post on social media, North Grenville Mayor Nancy Peckford says Raina was a remarkable community leader and businessman who served on Kemptville’s town council for a total of 19 years, including nine years as Mayor. He served another six years on the police services board.

He passed away earlier this month at the age of 101.

Peckford says many remember Raina for his passion, dynamism, strong opinions and genuine motivation to make a positive difference for the town of Kemptville and region as a whole.

She adds that he was a survivor of Tuberculosis, an airborne infection.

Flags in the community have been lowered to half mast in honour of Raina.
