Drivers are being reminded to slow down, move over and save lives.
The message comes from the North Grenville Fire Service who say they were recently on scene along Highway 416 responding to a tractor-trailer brake fire.
While firefighters were working to extinguish the fire and make the scene safe, the service says they observed far too few drivers slowing down or moving over as they approached the emergency scene.
Fire officials say it creates an extremely dangerous environment for firefighters and other emergency personnel.
When drivers see stopped emergency vehicles with their emergency lights activated they should move over, slow down and pay attention.
They say drivers need to remember that the emergency vehicle may be visible from a distance, but the people working around it may not be.
