Prescott Fire Department celebrating Fire Prevention Week

The Prescott Fire Department is opening its doors.

As part of Fire Prevention Week, the department is hosting an open house on Saturday, Oct. 3.

It’s taking place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the fire hall on Centre Street.

They are inviting everyone to come enjoy fire truck tours, equipment displays, a kids’ craft table, a visit from Sparky, and a free bbq lunch.

They will also be explaining how to become a volunteer firefighter.

Fire Prevention Week runs from Oct. 4 to Oct. 10 and the theme this year is “Charge Into Fire Safety. Safe Charging Is a Superpower!

The focus will be on the safe use, charging, storage, and disposal of lithium-ion batteries found in everyday devices like phones, laptops, and e-bikes to prevent fires.
