If you use a well you’re being reminded to test the water that comes from it.
Southeast Public Health says flooding in some areas and on some properties could compromise the safety of your drinking water.
They are advising residents who use wells that have been impacted by flooding to boil their water for at least one minute at a rolling boil before consuming it, or to use an alternate safe water source until testing confirms the water is safe to drink.
The health unit recommends testing your well water at least three times per year, and after a weather event where there has been flooding as it may impact water safety.
More information on flooding can be found on the health unit’s website.
