North Grenville Transit is getting ready to launch its expanded service.
On Friday, a ribbon cutting and first ride event are being held to mark the first day of the expanded service which will see a new fixed route bus service offered between North Grenville and the Limebank LRT Station in Ottawa.
After its morning commuter run, the new bus will switch to on-demand service between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., adding more flexibility and coverage during the day.
The launch event is taking place between 9:15 a.m. and 10 a.m. at the North Grenville Municipal Centre.
It will include remarks from Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes MPP Steve Clark as well as North Grenville Mayor Nancy Peckford.
There will also be an official ribbon cutting with local leaders, staff, and transit operators and the first ride of the expanded commuter service.
