North Grenville council meetings coming to rural hamlets to celebrate 25th anniversary

North Grenville council is planning a tour of the municipality to celebrate a historic milestone.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Town of Kemptville, Town of South Gower and Oxford-on-Rideau combining to become the Municipality of North Grenville.

“We like to boast that North Grenville is a brilliant blend of urban and rural charm,” Mayor Nancy Peckford says. “Our unique hamlets as well as the town of Kemptville have a storied history, and we are so excited to highlight what we have to offer and celebrate with the community over the coming months.”

To commemorate the occasion, the next few municipal council meetings are being held in North Grenville’s rural hamlets, rather than the Municipal Centre in Kemptville.

The tour begins on June 20th at Maplewood Hall in Oxford Mills. After that, council will visit Bishop’s Mills on July 4th, Burritt’s Rapids on July 25th, and South Gower Park on September 5th.

A final celebration ceremony is set to take place on September 25th at the Municipal Centre.
