MP Gord Brown dissappointed to see autism research and support motion turned down

MP Gord Brown says he’s disappointed that a motion to implement a national partnership to coordinate autism research and support was killed in the House of Commons.

The motion was brought forward by MP Mike Lake Tuesday. Lake has an autistic son.

Brown says the previous government started working on the project two years ago. The motion requested $19 million be put aside for the next five years for the initiative. That’s because Brown says it was left out of the Liberal budget.

While the motion was turned down, Brown says work will continue on the partnership.
