RVCA says to expect flooding to occur over the next 24 hours in North Grenville’s low-lying areas near the Rideau

With Environment Canada predicting 50 millimetres of rain or more tomorrow, the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority says it expects flooding along the Rideau River between Kemptville and Kars.

The RVCA says that the flooding will affect access roads like Hilly Lane, Cedar Beach, Rideau Glen, Fairmile, Greenline and Lorne Bridge by midday tomorrow. Water could also flood over areas in Ottawa South.

RVCA Senior Water Resource Technician Patrick Larson says people should take precautions.

Larson also reminds people to keep an eye on the situation and explain to children how dangerous flowing waters are. The RVCA says it will continue to monitor changes.
