North Grenville residents could have access to a municipal app in the future.
Staff and members of council are in preliminary discussions about getting an app built. Right now both sides are still trying to figure out exactly what they want to offer in the app and whether it should be built as an all-in-one solution, or rolled out as one or more apps covering specific information or services.
Staff members will continue to research the project and are expected to come back to council with more information on what residents search for on the North Grenville website. That may lead to indications on what the app should focus on.
Deputy Mayor Barb Tobin says the app is one of the many ways that members of council hope the municipality can reach out to the taxpayers.
The 2017 budget has up to $5,500 set aside for the project.
