Health unit telling people to brush their teeth

The Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit is reminding people about the importance of oral health.

It’s Oral Health Month and the health unit says we sometimes overlook the importance of our mouth.

Certified Dental Assistant Bronwyn Mcfarlane says it’s important to treat oral diseases and see warning signs for serious threats like cancer, but it’s also important to keep an eye out for basic issues as well.

The health unit recommends you brush multiple times a day and floss at least once a day. Look for signs of gum disease or oral cancer, eat well and see your dental professional regularly.
