It’s status quo when it comes to the different options to vote in the next North Grenville municipal elections in 2018.
Members of council looked at a draft bylaw that would allow multiple voting methods at the next set of municipal elections. The bylaw would allow for voting in person, as well as voting online and by telephone. All three options were available in the 2010 and 2014 elections as well.
Deputy-Mayor Barb Tobin believes that having the option of voting electronically and by phone makes it easier for more people to participate.
Tobin also says it gives residents who aren’t home, a chance to vote as well.
The final vote is expected to come at Monday’s North Grenville Council meeting.
