RECALL: PC Organics Baby Food

An expanded recall has been issued by Loblaw Co. for all flavours of their PC Organics baby food, due to the potential presence of dangerous bacteria known as Clostridium Botulinum.

Contaminated food may not look or smell spoiled, but it could still cause illness & you are being advised to throw out or return any packages to the store. If you think you or anyone in your family may have gotten sick from consuming the product, please consult a doctor immediately.

Food contaminated with the Clostridium botulinum toxin may cause symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, fatigue, dizziness, blurred or double vision, dry mouth, respiratory failure and paralysis. Severe cases of the illness can lead to death.

The CFIA has received reports of illnesses that may be associated with the products(s) and are verifying that all are removed from the stores at which they are sold. In Ontario, those stores include: Loblaws, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstore, Real Canadian Wholesale Club, Valu-mart, Your Independent Grocer, Shoppers Drug Mart as well as other affiliated independent stores.
