North Grenville Council awards contract for updated Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan

The wheels are in motion for North Grenville’s next Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan.

North Grenville Council awarded the contract to prepare the plan to Monteith Brown Planning Consultants for $94,925 at their regular meeting on Tuesday night.

Council approved a capital budget of $100,000 for completion of the plan, an update of the first completed in 2019.

Since that time, North Grenville officials say they have experienced significant residential growth, increased demand on municipal infrastructure and recreation services, changing participation trends, and evolving community priorities.

They say the updated plan will include a review of parks, recreation facilities, trails, active transportation amenities, cultural programming, service delivery, capital planning, organizational analysis, and community engagement.

Work on the plan is expected to start immediately.
