It’s a yearly sign that warmer weather is on the way.
Watermain and hydrant flushing is scheduled to take place in Merrickville-Wolford until the end of the month.
It will be done between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. and, as a result of the flushing, your water may be slightly discoloured.
Village staff say the water is entirely safe but it may not be aesthetically pleasing.
If you are aware of flushing taking place on your street, you’re recommended not to run any water until the street is complete.
When your street is complete, your house taps should be run at full flow to a faucet without a screen for a short time until the water is clear.
Weekly sampling is also being conducted to ensure safe water.
