It’s a big change for waste collection in the Village of Merrickville-Wolford.
Beginning in 2026, waste will be picked up curbside in Merrickville and Wolford with the first pickup day scheduled for Friday, Jan. 7.
Wolford tags will be replaced with orange tags, costing $2.50 per tag or $25 for a sheet of 10, and households will be limited to two bags of waste.
Businesses will be allowed four bags of waste with all garbage required to be out for pickup at the curb by 7 a.m.
Garbage bags shouldn’t weigh more than 13.6 kilograms.
Wednesday will be collection day but alternative days may be selected for holidays.
